Everyone may be in need of booster shots 8 months after receiving the second dose of their COVID-19 vaccines due to antibodies naturally decreasing. Immunocompromised individuals might need an additional dose of the vaccine 28 days after their second dose. This differs from a booster shot as a booster shot is in defense of waning immunity (protection decreased over time)
